Stucco mouldings (also known as stucco wall bands) are traditionally created with a Styrofoam core. Installation involves using construction glue to adhere the moulding directly to the wall, then placing stucco on top of the moulding in order to create the appearance of stone or wood.
Stucco mouldings can look amazing once installed. But they’re also a flawed product. Although installation is easier than products like pre-cast concrete, the stucco has to be perfectly placed on top of the moulding using a careful installation and finishing process that adds labor and costs to the project, and also introduce the potential for manmade error.
Patterson Whittaker Architectural Profiles has created an approach to architectural stucco shapes and wall bands – not only for stucco, but for essentially any type of siding and architectural design. Our products use an EPS foam core coated in reinforced cement that is stronger, just as light weight, and does not require a coating of stucco or any additional labor after installation.
Our products have replaced not only stucco mouldings, but also:
- Precast mouldings
- Wood mouldings
- GFRC mouldings, and much more.
Our products can also be made larger, with greater detailing, and are less likely to become damaged in transport and installation. Architects that have used our products frequently continue to use them for all of their architectural designs, and contractors prefer our products as they cut down on costs without sacrificing any quality.
