GFRC Wall Panels – A Better Alternative from PW Profiles

Patterson Whittaker Architectural Profiles

Patterson Whittaker Architectural Profiles offers an alternative to GFRC manufacturing, including GFRC wall panels. Using a reinforced EPS core covered in reinforced cement, our wall panels provide the same level of strength, durability, and weather proofing that GFRC provides but with shorter lead times, no molds, less cost, and far easier installation.

If you’re looking for GFRC wall panels, we encourage you to review our specs and contact us to learn more about our proprietary EPS designs. Our products are frequently used to replace GFRC wall panels – and all GFRC fabrication – across a wide range of properties, and are preferred by architects that have tried them once.

About Our GFRC Panels

We have an intimate understanding of the benefits of GFRC and GFRC fabrication. GFRC is a powerful, durable material. It is often considered a very effective option for panels, for example, as wall panels can be under immense pressure and require a strong material that is weather resistant and capable of resisting damage, decay, and weather challenges.

GFRC is also considered “lightweight” and frequently used for exterior architectural wall panel designs because of its limited reinforcement needs.

But GFRC wall panels are not without their problems, both from a manufacturing standpoint and from an installation standpoint:

  • GFRC may be light weight compared to similar materials, but it is still a heavy material that will need quite a bit of mechanical reinforcement.
  • GFRC requires molds that can extend the lead time, and shipping is limited to slower and more expensive options.
  • GFRC can be expensive. It’s a great material, but it comes at a high cost. That prices out many types of properties, limiting it to primarily commercial buildings.

GFRC wall panels look amazing. They are almost entirely weather resistant. There is no denying they are a great material. But they do have flaws, and architects have to weigh those flaws when deciding whether or not to take on the project.

EPS Core Alternative to GFRC Wall Panels

Our wall panels here at Patterson Whittaker are very different from what many contractors have experienced when they work with GFRC. We create some of the most popular architectural decorative materials in the Northwest, but outside of the Northwest, many people are learning more about why our products offer such a worthwhile advantage.

These products are not “cheap” or low quality products. Quite the contrary, the specs of our products compare favorably to not only GFRC, but also pre-cast and natural stone. But our wall panels (and the other products we offer) address many of the drawbacks of using GFRC at a much lower cost:

  • Lead time is much shorter.
  • Our wall panels are so light weight, they need limited/no mechanical reinforcement.
  • They are 100% waterproof and weather resistant.

Shipping is much easier and more cost effective. There is far less of a risk of chips during transport. The process to create these products is also easier, which means less headaches and less opportunity for error.

Our products are not new. They have been increasing in popularity throughout Canada, and are making their way into the United States. Almost all of the contractors and architects that try our products tend to use them for all of their subsequent work. We have been creating these products for over 20 years, and continue to grow in the types of designs we can create.

But it starts with a call. If you’ve been looking for GFRC wall panel fabrication, then it’s time to at least learn more about our EPS foam core coated architectural products. Call us today to get started, or use the form below to reach out to our team.
