We’re proud of what we have been completing here at Patterson Whittaker Architectural Profiles. Our products are unique to the industry and offer advantages over nearly every material – precast concrete, GFRC, plaster, wood, and so much more. We could go on and on about the many different advantages of this type of material, but today, let’s talk about waterproofing.
EPS Core Trim and Waterproofing
Most architectural products are very heavy, requiring significant manual reinforcement. As a result, most architectural products puncture the waterproof membrane of the property during installation, leading to significant longevity and liability concerns. As a result, contractors need to make sure that each installation is evaluated to make sure that the building’s waterproof system is still intact.
That adds both another expense and another liability to each and every project. Given how many contractors are already working on tight budgets and timelines, any delays or added costs reduce profit.
Our products are different. They’re built with an EPS Core covered in reinforced cement. They are strong and durable, like many of those other materials, but they are also extremely light weight. This allows them to be installed without puncturing the weatherproof membrane of the property, which in turn means that they do not need to be considered a part of the building’s weatherproof system.
How Are Our Products Installed?
Our products are almost always installed using nothing but powerful construction glue. Even our larger materials are able to be installed with little to no manual reinforcement. This light weight has plenty of advantages, from lower shipping costs to less manpower, but it’s the ability to be installed using nothing but construction glue that makes it especially useful for contractors, architects, and labor teams.
Because they do not require any manual reinforcement – often not even nails – there is no risk to the waterproofing ability of the property, and thus no liability and no extra costs.
Our products make installation better from beginning to end, reducing costs and stress throughout the process. If you’d like to learn more, contact our sales team today to get started.
