How to Repair Damaged Architectural EPS

(Please note: we have a new website! If you have anything you need, please reach out to our team).

Patterson Whittaker Architectural Profiles is a leader in architectural EPS for Canada, the US, and abroad. We stand behind our product as one of the best examples of low cost, durability, high performance, and design. Because our products are also coated in cement, they are capable of being used in both residential AND commercial settings, making it a great replacement for other high performance products, such as precast concrete.

Still, like any product, it can become damaged. When that does happen, what can you do?

First, note that even if the damage is significant – meaning, a replacement is warranted – one of the reasons that so many people prefer our products is because, since no mold is necessary, replacing it is much more cost efficient and less time consuming. Send us the details, and we can have the new product there with minimal lead time. Since the product can be installed with contractors glue, it is not typically that difficult to put a replacement up very quickly

But if you’re looking for more detailed information, it is going to depend on the extent of the damage:

Minor Surface Damage

Minor surface damage can typically be replaced with a simple filler of some kind, or even a little bit of paint. Caulking, spackle, or any number of EPS specific compounds is often more than enough to repair the surface. For those with stucco, you may simply need to go over it with more stucco and you may not enough notice there was damage.

  • Deep Gouges

If there are deeper gouges, the easiest thing to do is replace the damaged area with a new piece of cement coated EPS of a similar size and shape. You can actually just cut out the damaged part and order a small replacement part that can be installed with contractor’s glue and finished in order to make it look seamless.

Significant Damage

Only significant damage warrants a replacement. Make sure that you contact PW Profiles, and we’ll be in touch over how quickly we can get a new replacement to your door.
